Educational Creations
I have always been drawn to gathering and organizing educational resources personally and professionally. The following are a few examples of educational materials I have created for fun.
How to Write Statements is a project that I created to present during an Undergraduate Research Assistant meeting with the Center for FearLess Research. Of the four RAs in our group, I was the only one applying for Master's and Doctoral programs at the time. The short presentation aimed to give an overview of the different types of statements required for graduate school applications, how to make sure you're writing the right things, and what to include or remove.
Protecting Yourself as a Streamer was a personal project that I created following an experience of harassment by a viewer that orbited within my communities on Twitch (a popular content creation platform). I aimed to present the basics of how to protect yourself and your personal information, how to make your chat a safer place for others, and how to give yourself grace to take breaks and adjust boundaries. I emphasized behaviors one may experience through viewers and other content creators such as "love-bombing," "gaslighting," and "stonewalling." Since it's creation, the slide deck has been shared around mutual spaces where creators wanted to educate themselves or their communities.
The Curriculum Vitae: Summary of Academic and Employment History graphic was a personal project made for presentation during an Undergraduate Research Assistant meeting with the Center for FearLess Research. We discussed professional development, the professional standards for resumes and CVs in different professional areas, and what to include on your CV. Following this presentation, the RAs prepared and reviewed each other's CVs.
